Gathering Together:

Churches in Roseboom

Churches in Roseboom served as important community spaces throughout the area’s history. People came to worship at the various churches, join different organizations, and attend events like dinners, bees, Easter celebrations, and other get-togethers. By 1868, there were nine churches throughout the Town of Roseboom for people to come together.

Although some have closed over time, the First Baptist Church, erected in 1844, continues to bring people together as the site of the Roseboom Historical Association through exhibits and programs like the annual Pancake Breakfast.

The gentleman, Ron Fralick,

a minister...does the [outdoor] service. It's an all-around

good time. People go away happy and talking about how great it is to be out the fresh air and hear the birds sing.
